COMMUNITY CHALLENGES

The reality our students face every day.

In Mumbai's informal settlements, families navigate extraordinary barriers

just to meet basic needs. Here's a snapshot of the community where we

serve our students.

98%

of our students live in poverty

In communities classified as slums or informal settlements where

60% of Mumbai's population resides.

75%

don't receive the minimum daily clean water

Most families rely on public taps that run for less than one hour a day -

well below the UN-recommended 20 litres per person.

58%

of community facilities lack electricity

Where electricity exists, connections are often informal, unreliable, and unsafe.
